Mazars Financial Services, Sustainable Finance Team (Banking) is looking for an experienced risk professional (Senior Consultant) to actively contribute to the Teams rapid growth in the banking sector. The Senior Consultant will be contributing to diverseclient engagements and delivering professional services and working on research activities within banking advisory service offering. The candidate will join a diverse, international team of open-minded professionals with both consulting and industry background.Mazars offers a competitive salary and a wide set of benefits. We have a hybrid working model, which means you will split your time between working from home, visitingthe office and client sites when required. Job Purpose Mazars Financial Services Consulting is experiencing exciting growth and we have various opportunities for talented and high performing individuals to be based in the London office given the opportunities arising from sustainability related challenges.At present we are seeking to recruit additional talent into our Sustainable Finance team to help and developing comprehensive and relevant sustainability solutions and services.The ESG/Sustainable Finance Advisory practice will offer a variety of services integral to helping financial services firms develop comprehensive leading ESG strategies and processes. It will prepare firms to comply with the new UK and global regulationsand allow them to be the industry leaders of tomorrow. Mazars leverages its vast pool of experts in all areas necessary to create a mature and thorough ESG strategy. Firms will be able to manage and identify ESG risks and opportunities, design and executeESG and Sustainability strategies. Mazars ESG Sustainable finance advisory will help firms with financial, regulatory, political, and commercial perspectives to create the correct unique path for each firm. Role & Responsibilities The Senior Consultant will be expected to participate in the active growth of our Sustainable Finance (Banking) practice, by contributing to diverse client engagement teams and delivering professional services and working on research activities.The role actively shapes the future of Mazars offering and the future of ESG & Sustainable Finance Advisory at the firm. This area is expected to grow exponentially in the foreseeable future. This position will contribute in developing and enhancing the banking service offering as the ESG Sustainable finance sector evolvesin the UK, Europe, and internationally.This includes working with different clients across markets, supporting the senior management in business development activities, and helping with the integration of the wider Mazars firms initiatives in the ESG/ sustainable finance space.The position will have direct exposure to client companies leadership. This will be key for advancing workstreams and strategies to achieve our clients objectives and installing Mazars as a leader in ESG/Sustainable Finance Advisory.As a Senior Consultant in the Sustainable Finance team, you will be required to:

• Screen regulatory and industry developments around sustainable finance to aid client conversations, equip the wider team, grow expertise, anticipate regulatory developments, identify opportunities, and produce material to will increase Mazars visibilityin the space
• Work with the leadership team to develop our service offering and contribute to marketing activities towards external and internal stakeholders
• Develop and improve specialised skills and knowledge relating to Sustainable Finance within the team
• Be part of the Engagement Team on clients projects and ensure timely delivery of high-quality consulting services
• Identify likely issues and risks that could impact delivery and call upon on Mazars network support as required
• Prepare client proposals
• Mentor, coach and develop more junior staff

Typical engagements will be in relation to:

• ESG regulations
• ESG risk management framework (core activity)
• ESG journey / strategy
• ESG disclosures and reporting
• ESG Research

Skills, Knowledge and Experience Past experience should include

• Experience working within banking industry (risk, strategy, research)
• Conducting structured information gathering, research and analysis to provide relevant recommendations for enhancing current arrangements
• Structuring, planning, and managing the execution of deliverables
• Preparing, facilitating, documenting, and actively participating in meetings and workshops
• Creating high quality presentations and reports to effectively communicate findings and conclusions

Desirable skills

• Demonstrated interest and preferably experience in sustainability, climate change strategy development, climate scenario analysis, stakeholder engagement and change management
• Practical knowledge of relevant UK and EU regulations
• Understanding of ESG-related data landscape

Educational / Professional Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of relevant financial banking services and/or management consulting experience
• University Degree with a relevant business, finance, or technology major, or must have a strong and passionate interest in sustainability-related disciplines
• Professional certifications in sustainable finance and climate risk are considered as an asset (e.g., SCR, CCI, ESG Investing)
