Job Description

Job IntroductionMain Responsibilities

  • Represent the Sustainability function in all questions relating to ESG risks, reporting and regulation, presenting to senior leaders and Group counterparts.
  • Provide expert input to 2LOD Risk to support development of:
    • a suitable framework for tracking, analysing and managing Sustainability-related risks.
    • appropriate internal controls.
  • Build out and continually enhance the Sustainability departments operational risk register and use your insights to help partners capture relevant risks.
  • Develop the Banks Sustainability Data, MI and Reporting strategy.
  • Design and deliver a satisfactory quality of sustainability reporting, aligned to market expectations - e.g. TCFD, TPT, UK Taxonomy, TNFD and ISSB - and relevant to the Banks growing maturity in this area.
  • Scope the Banks foreseeable Sustainability data requirements and deliver a Bank-wide data improvement programme.
  • Provide expert insights into the evolving regulatory agenda.
  • Guide partner functions in assessing the relevance and impact of specific developments, and to design appropriate responses.

  • A passion for sustainability, evidenced through professional development and impact.
  • First-hand experience analysing and advising on market and regulatory developments in a banking / financial services setting.
  • Experience operating at a range of levels from senior management, C-suite and Board, through second line Audit, Risk and Compliance, to branch colleagues, as required.
  • Fluency with a range of relevant external standards and evolving practices, including but not limited to SBTi, GRI, PCAF, PACTA and relevant ISOs.
  • Demonstrable experience managing and analysing data, particularly in relation to reporting, risk and/or regulation.
  • First rate relationship management.
