Job Description

Do you have what it takes THE GIG Our Sustainability & Climate Manager plays a key role in the sustainability team for the delivery of our Planet & Product commitments and Science Based Net Zero targets. This individual will continue to lead Dr Martens journey transitioningto a low carbon economy through delivery of our strategic environmental targets. This role will provide exposure to and engagement with a wide range of stakeholders both across the business and externally. As our Sustainability & Climate Manager you will beresponsible for:

  • Lead the development of DMs climate transition plan
  • Continue to oversee monitoring of DMs annual carbon footprints, helping to manage the environmental impact of the organisation and supply chain
  • Carbon data analysis, providing specialist recommendations and insights into initiatives which will drive reductions in emissions across all scopes against Science Based Targets
  • Partner with a range of departments across the business to support the delivery of sustainability initiatives and compliance requirements to improve overall environmental performance including transition to renewables and zero waste to landfill.
  • Lead annual disclosure against CDP and other climate related reporting requirements including those in the Annual Report and TCFD.
  • Participation in establishing practices, policies, tools and partnerships, producing ad-hoc thematic research

  • Experience in sustainability/responsibility in a global business
  • Strong understanding of the sustainability space, and working knowledge of the climate change trends, policies and related legislations for both UK and global perspective
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in evaluating complex data, with the ability to translate into accessible and meaningful insight
  • Demonstrable experience in carbon and climate reporting requirements such as TCFD, CDP
  • Expertise in science-based target setting, scope 3 (value chain) emission reductions and net zero strategy implementation are strong assets
  • Solid project management skills combined with high energy to set dynamic pace of delivery
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to adapt their style of delivery to suit the audience and earn credibility with leadership team and executive directors.
