Job Description

2nd / 3rd Line Support, Application / Trade Floor Support, Linux, Windows, SQL, Scripting, E-Trading. Candidates must have previous Financial Application Support including maintaining Financial Trading Applications / Market Data Systems in a mixed Linux / Unix (any of RedHat, Debian, CENTOS, SuSE, Solaris) and Windows 2008/12/16, Windows 8/10 environment with at least some Scripting and a knowledge of Databases (SQL Server, Postgress, Oracle or Sybase.)Ideal candidates will have strong Linux Systems Administration including Builds, Installs, Troubleshooting and Performance Tuning and a minimum of 3+ years Scripting in any of: Python, PowerShell, Bash, Perl, R with any DevOps and AWS beneficial.A strong knowledge of FIX Connectivity / Client On-boarding and troubleshooting is highly desirable along with some Relational Database Architecture experience - SQL Server, Postgress, Oracle or Sybase.Essential Skills:

  • Previous Application Support (Ideally Trading / Market Data).
  • Excellent Knowledge of Windows Desktop - 7/8/10.
  • Strong Linux / Unix System Administration - RedHat, Ubuntu, Solaris.
  • Shell Scripting - Python, R, Perl, Bash.
  • Core knowledge of Databases - SQL Server / Oracle.
  • Windows Server / Active Directory - 2008/12/16.
    • Any experience of Low Latency / HFT (High Frequency Trading) Algorithmic Trading Systems would be highly advantageous including BIOS / Kernel Tuning and Optimization … although this is a superb opportunity for someone with the core skills to gain some exposure to other areas.Preferred candidates will also have strong Business Knowledge … ideally Futures & Options although Financial experience in any of the asset classes - FX, Fixed Income, Equities - is highly beneficial.Non Essential But Highly Desirable Skills:
  • Previous experience supporting Futures & Options Trading / Settlement Systems.
  • Knowledge of at least one of the ISV’s products - Trading Technologies, Stellar, ULLink, WebICE, Object Trading, Fidessa, ION / Patsystems, Trayport.
  • Exchange Connectivity - ICE / LIFFE, Eurex, CME / CBOT, Xetra, Chi-X, LME, LSE, NYSE.
  • FIX Connectivity - Client On-boarding, Support / Troubleshooting of FIX Logs / Connections.
  • Other Market Data - Reuters, Bloomberg, CQG, Ateo (Teo and Lisa).
    • Within reason the role will pay what’s required for "The Right Candidate" there is a wide salary range which will largely depend on the level of relevant Financial experience but applications are expected in the £60 to £120k range + Excellent Bonus + Benefits depending upon experience.
