Job Description

SUPPORT ANALYSTLONDON (Hybrid)c£40kGrafton Recruitment are looking to recruit a Support Analyst to join a high performance manufacturer of software, machinery, systems and solutions that bring innovation in food processing.As part of their long-term commitment to quality and continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Support Analyst who will join a dedicated customer support team, and be involved in all aspects of application support of the companys products operatedby customers.This role would suit someone with attention to detail.THE ROLE:As a Support Analyst, you will be required to:

  • Defect management Activities in Customer Production Environments
  • Responding to support tickets logged by the customer and progressing these through to resolution.
  • Debugging Software and applying data or product fixes where appropriate
  • Assistance and advice to customer on correct usage of the system to meet customer business needs
  • Attend regular Meetings with the customer to prioritize and track open defects.
  • Produce Defect Tracking and Service Level Reports for the customer
  • Development work for Minor Product Enhancements
  • Review and analysis of client specifications
  • Estimation and creation of development proposals
  • Building new software in line with client specifications
  • Performing solution testing to ensure system integrity
  • System Administration Activities
  • Assisting the customer with refresh of test environments.
  • Undertake Application Software Deployment to Production and Test Environments.
  • Upgrade/Implementation Activities
  • Ratification and implementation of new software versions.
  • Support of Customer User Acceptance Testing.
THE CANDIDATEThe ideal Support Analyst:
  • A minimum of 2 years commercial experience of COBOL
  • Experienced programmer in Cobol and embedded SQL coding (essential), Cobol.NET, VB.NET (preferable) and SQL data handling
  • Good knowledge of COBOL with embedded SQL coding
  • Experience of COBOL.NET, VB.NET, developing systems for the financial sector (Trading platforms; Financial messaging; security settlement)
  • Familiarity with principles of application communication - FTP, sFTP, MQ Messaging
  • Agile development practices
  • Configuration Management & Continuous Integration
  • Experience of GitLab lifecycle tool
