Job Description

We are recruiting for an experienced Superintendent Radiographer to join an imaging department in a private hospital in Kensington on a permanent full time basis.Job Role:You will be responsible for for General X Ray, Interventional, Bone Densitometry, Mammography and Ultrasound services in the Hospital. You will overall responsibility for planning and delivery of current and future services that are responsive to the needsof patients and the organisation, within available resources, underpinned by relevant specialist knowledge and skills.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical expertise, operational and strategic business planning and leadership to the General Radiology Department.
  • Create a positive and inclusive culture and environment for staff and patients, delivering high quality care and outstanding service.
  • Provide professional support and leadership to Radiographers working within the department and ensure compliance with all appropriate policies and procedures.
  • Work within the local and national regulations and guidelines concerning ionising radiation and health and safety.
  • Devise and manage a QA programme for equipment, processing and Radiation Protection.
  • Ensure that Quality Assurance tests are performed and that unacceptable findings are escalated appropriately and acted upon.
  • Maintain overall responsibility for ensuring appropriate staffing levels and skills mix across the department.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships through effective communication with Consultants, colleagues and patients.
Qualifications/Experience Required:
  • BSc (Hons) degree or equivalent qualification in Radiography
  • Health Care Professions Council Registration
  • Evidence of other Continuing Professional Development in relevant modalities
  • Membership of appropriate professional body and/or clinical interest group
  • Competent in written and oral English
  • Substantial post graduate experience in general radiology at a senior level
  • Ability to manage the clinical and technical environment requiring knowledge of the scientific, clinical, technical and physical environment and requirements relevant to the delivery of modern and effective clinical imaging services.
  • Experience of departmental management.
