AECOM are currently recruiting for a Structural Engineer to join our London offices based in Aldgate Tower. This particular opportunity has arisen in our Building & Places Business Unit which focusses on projects within the Built Environment with a specificfocus on Commercial projects.This is a great opportunity for an experienced structural engineer with a proven track record in project delivery and assessment of existing structures.The Buildings team consists of around 400 Engineers who work large scale construction projects and focus on projects not only in London but also across the world. Some of the sectors we specialise in are; stadia, major commercial build and fit out projects,large mixed used developments and historical/listed Buildings. This is a great opportunity to play a significant part on future construction projects across London, and across worldwide locations.AECOMs workload has remained robust throughout recent world events. The immediate work for any successful applicant would focus on a forensic role.Specific Requirements

  • Excellent knowledge of design in Reinforced Concrete Construction, Steel Construction, All other common construction material.
  • Desire to work in the field of DfMA and develop solutions to off-site manufacture.
  • Desire to learn more about designing to Net Zero ambitions.
  • Excellent working knowledge of the current Eurocodes and specifically BS EN 1992: (Eurocode 2) Design of concrete structures.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Structural Analysis Software, SCIA, TEKLA or similar software.
  • Experience in the assessment of existing structures and their justification, as well as new build designs.
Minimum RequirementsDuties of the Structural Engineer role include;
  • Effectively contributing, and to some extent controlling, significant aspects of projects, for which you are responsible.
  • Excellent knowledge of standard engineering practices, techniques, procedures and Structural principles.
  • Undertaking structural engineering projects, performing analyses and calculations as appropriate.
  • Producing, and in some circumstances supervising, work ensuring that it is carried out to the appropriate technical standard and that it is managed to programme and budget
  • Ability to deliver design solutions, assessment calculations and successfully manage projects.
  • A solid track record of having worked on a variety of structures projects, with experience of dealing directly with client teams and site teams.
Desirable attributes
  • A highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
  • Approaching Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with either the Institution of Civil Engineers and/or the Institution of Structural Engineers.
  • Member of either the Institution of Civil Engineers and/or the Institution of Structural Engineers.
  • Previously, a graduate in Structural Engineering or equivalent with experience of Structural Engineering in directly relevant fields.
