Job Description

Brakes have a great opportunity for a Strategic Initiatives Manager to join the Commercial Division on a full time, permanent basis. This role is offering a home-based contract, although you will be required to visit one of our Depots or officesonce per week.As an Initiatives Manager youll work alongside the Director of Commercial Strategy to shape our customer focused initiatives that align to deliver our short, medium and long term growth plans.You will lead and manage agreed strategic and tactical initiatives starting with insight to define the initiative strategy then through to activity planning, successful execution, embedding, and evaluation working with key stakeholders within commercialand across the business as a whole.This strategic and tactical initiatives range from short term trials and optimising immediate growth opportunities through to medium and long term goals aimed at increasing our market shareIf you enjoy working closely with large teams, relish in no 2 days being the same and have experience or an understanding of sales and enjoy launching new propositions into the market, apply now!Responsibilities

  • Management of all agreed strategic and tactical initiatives optimising the business process already in place
  • Lead, alongside the agreed commercial owner, the creation of the scoping document for each initiative for sign off with a strong focus on insight and commercial impact
  • To lead the insight to scope the opportunity and the target for impact supported by the Insight and Planning analyst within the team
  • From insight then shaping of the solution for each initiative bringing in subject matter experts from across the business to define the solution and then producing the plan on a page for sign off
  • To take the agreed solution through the activity and project planning process with clear timelines and regular reviews
  • To drive the implementation of the project plan with regular reviews providing business communication around each on a weekly basis. Supported by the Activity and Programme Manager within the team where this is agreed and relevant
  • To continually track and measure the initiative for an agreed time providing insights for action, information, or course correction
  • To provide a clear handover for the project though to the BAU execution team
  • To create and lead the business autopsy of the initiative providing insights to shape future activity
  • To optimise existing sales team briefing processes through the SSB for Independents, CLT and SLT team meetings and Bite communication routes
  • To work alongside and efficiently with the Activity and Programme Manager to ensure continued alignment on activity and communication and no crossover of effort
  • To create and nurture relationships across the business to ensure all activities are delivered with and through others willingly and well
  • Management and direction of all Sales Colleague communications through Bite Size, Quick Bites and Big Bites delivered through the Sales Colleague Communications Exec
  • To plan, manage and execute the monthly Independent Sales Steering Board ensuring strong planning to manage agenda and content, pre-reads prior to the meeting, the running of the meeting itself and the creation of the SLT and Team meeting in a box contentsupported by the Sales Colleague Communications Exec
Skills and experienceYoull be creating and delivering strategic and tactical initiatives which put the customer at the heart of our decision-making using insight as your anchor so must have the ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders across all levelsand be able to flex your approach in different situations. This role will suit someone who is a strategic planner and thinker with the commercial mindset and drive to create sound insight and action plans. We are looking for someone who has a solid understandingof process management and an excellent communicator. Launching new initiatives into the market requires someone who is confident with presenting new propositions and can take a lead on facilitating new initiative briefings.
