Job Description

Strategic Finance Transformation Partner / London (initially remote) / £1000 per day outside IR35 / 6 month contract with likely extensionMy client, a household name organisation with head office based in London, is recruiting a Strategic Finance Transformation Partner. You will be responsible for sharping finance transformation across the whole business using business technology.Strategic Finance Transformation Partner duties:

  • Drive a finance business partner mentality working with the wider finance team to collectively solve problems and deliver first-class finance service delivery
  • Drive and embed new initiatives to improve the P&L performance. Upskill and improve the overall management of financial activities between both operational and change staff. Educate non-finance people around finance processes and commercial understanding, reducing risk and exposure. Provide expert advice and an independent view to the Finance Leadership Team, CFO and functional GE member and Portfolio/change community.
  • Manage the monthly performance review and challenge process for all IT Cost Centres and Large Outsourced Contracts. Providing the appropriate high level or detailed analysis of performance; identifying risks and opportunities and driving cost efficiency initiatives.
  • Evaluate business cases for all of IT, providing challenge to functional heads and Project Managers where required, making recommendations to improve investment decisions, ensure cases are clear and comprehensive about financial obligations and consequences.
  • Prioritise performance issues for review in relevant functional and Finance Performance Reviews.
  • Design, develop and maintain an IT cost reallocation model, understanding the drivers, costs and volumes; variable, stepped and fixed costs.
  • Approval of Purchase Order requisitions within the agreed company levels.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with any specific legislative, regulatory, or contractual requirements.
    • Strategic Finance Transformation Partner requirements:
  • Experience at a senior level in Retail Finance
  • Extensive experience as a senior financier of shaping, influencing and delivering business transformation through technology
  • A broad understanding of a wide range of IT technologies, commensurate with a financier that has spent the majority of their career working with IT.
  • A demonstrable and successful track record of effecting financial change, in a large business environment, covering both process and systems change.
  • Deep and extensive experience in stakeholder management, able to work across a diverse business environment, analyse multiple priorities and resolving contention.
  • A background that clearly demonstrates commercial and supplier acumen, multiple examples of working with broader teams to navigate complex contractual and operational issues.
  • Over the course of their career, has been in an operational finance role, and hence is able to understand and appreciate the complexities of delivering efficient IT services.
  • Able to understand detailed financial problems, identify appropriate analysis and interpret the corresponding results.
