Job Description

Marylebone Cricket Club (the Club) is the worlds most active cricket club, custodian of the laws of cricket and is also the owner of Lords Ground, affectionately known as the "Home of Cricket". The MCC and Lords brands are renowned worldwide and are synonymouswith excellence, prestige and providing an enjoyable customer experience, whether at an international cricket match with 31,000 spectators, or for Sunday Afternoon Teain the Long Room.Working as part of a world-class stewarding team, you will play a vital role in the three pillars of event operations: safety, security, and service. We are looking for engaging steward supervisors who enjoy leading a team to provide exceptional serviceto all members and spectators that attend Lords Cricket Ground. This is a key role to ensure the safety and security of all staff, spectators, members and players are never compromised and ensure ground regulations are followed at all times.Our stewards are crucial to making an amazing first impression, creating an experience that goes beyond just service. We are looking for skilled supervisors that have the expertise and knowledge to lead a team in achieving operational excellence and first-classservice. You will act in line with the clubs own standards and values: smart, attentive and original.REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEThe demands of the cricket season mean extended hours and intense periods of work - including weekends - and the ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate personal resilience to manage this and still deliver their best work.The ideal candidates will show strong customer focus, great teamwork and have the ability to work under pressure.Must hold a Level 3 NVQ Certificate in Spectator Safety or be able to demonstrate equivalent professional experience and must have prior supervisor experience within a Sports Ground or similar management experience.Skills and ability testing will form part of the selection processCOMMITMENT TO WORKAll match day stewards applying for this position must be available for 75% of major match days including two International Test Matches, One-Day International, T20 Blast fixtures and The Hundred tournament. This equates to working a minimum of 15 out ofthe 20 major match days in 2024.Confirmed fixtures for 2024:

  • Thursday 6 June - Sunrisers v South-East Stars (CE Cup) and Middlesex v Glamorgan (T20 Blast)
  • Tuesday 11 June - Middlesex v Somerset (T20 Blast)
  • Thursday 13 June - Sunrisers v The Blaze (CE Cup) and Middlesex v Essex Eagles (T20 Blast)
  • Thursday 20 June - Middlesexv Surrey (T20 Blast)
  • Wednesday 10 - Sunday 14 July - England v West Indies (Mens Test match)
  • Wednesday 17 July - England v New Zealand (Womens T20I)
  • Saturday 27 July - The Hundred
  • Thursday 1 August - The Hundred
  • Sunday 4 August - The Hundred
  • Friday 9 August - The Hundred
  • Saturday 17 August OR Sunday 18 August - The Hundred Eliminator or Final
  • Thursday 29 August - Monday 2 September - England v Sri Lanka (Mens Test match)
  • Friday 27 September - England v Australia (Mens ODI)
