Job Description

Job Title: Snr Finance Analyst, KidsDepartment Name: FinanceLocation: Old Street, LondonReports to: Head of Finance, KidsDate Created/Revised: May 2022Primary Purpose of the Role:

  • Support the Finance lead for the Kids business unit within our large Media client, Finance Business Partner for budget holders within Kids function
  • Supporting the budgeting, forecasting and the management accounts for the Kids division , including programming, marketing, PR & digital spend. Ensuring the timely and accurate reporting of these activities
  • Supporting the development of reporting and KPIs for the newly formed kids team, to allow the Head of Kids to have the insight, analysis and information required to effectively run the function
  • Supporting financial modelling of any business cases and commercial activities (eg HBO Max content plans) required by the head of kids and her leadership team. Ensuring the information is accurate and timely and based on sound and tested assumptions.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Responsibility for the forecasting and budgeting of APAC shared kids programming costs, including monthly management accounting. Driving process improvement to streamline programming reporting in the APAC.
  • Production & maintenance of forecasting and budgeting tools and models across kids programming, including shared and local, ensuring integrity of financial models and versions, as well as assumptions for the current Production Slate for costs and volume
  • Budgeting & Forecasting responsibility for a key programming cost (eg D&S, Shared Amort, HBO Max). Ensuring forecasts are submitted in a timely manner, are accurate, built on sound volume assumptions and are communicated efficiently to the local FBPs
  • Support the production of any decks required for forecast, LRP or ad hoc projects that facilitate executive review of the Kids business.
  • Production of cashflow reporting, forecasting and analysis of Programming spend, and providing Treasury function with required currency-based information; understanding and being able to present the implications of currency volatility on results and plans
  • Responsibility for FBP support to a couple of departments within the Kids division (eg marketing, digital, PR) This includes budgeting, forecasting, headcount reporting, business partnering department heads and ad hoc projects.
  • Encourage and drive process improvement activities
  • Manage ad-hoc projects and requests as necessary
Required Education and Qualifications:
  • Graduate or graduate caliber
  • (ACA / CIMA / ACCA or international equivalent) Qualification Preferred
Relevant Previous Work Experience:
  • F&PA experience of programming amortisation and localisation expenses
  • Previous Hyperion / other ERP experience preferred
  • Demonstrable experience of working with finance system(s)
  • Experience in a FP&A role preferred
Competencies & Profile
  • Effective manager of self and team workload in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work within a team or individually with minimal supervisory direction
  • Excellent MS Excel skills, MS Word and Powerpoint and financial modelling skills
  • Experience of modelling complex contracts, preferably content acquisition deals
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate, verbally and written, with finance and non-finance people at different levels of the business
  • Uses a variety of influencing styles to ensure the finance position is understood and considered
  • Self motivated, flexible and a high level of initiative
