The Specialist Sub-Custodian Resiliency post is responsible for themanagement of the contingency subcustodians providers and framework within our global network to support Northern Trusts asset servicing business.The key elements of the resiliency network manager role includes periodicreviews of the risk management functions performed within the groupfocusing on contingent subcustodians and Nostro banks.Provider service comparisons, commercial and relationship management may be required as part of the role. Network Management is part of the Digital Assets and Financial Markets group - the open position sits within the European (London) regional NetworkManagement team. Responsibilities :

  • Where applicable, perform market provider RFPs and related exercises to support the expansion of Northerns resiliency network coverage.
  • Assist the Head of Sub-custodian Network Management Resiliency with the coordination and execution of related expansion plans.
  • Manage and develop relationships with all resilience providers such as contingent sub-custodians and Nostro Banks.
  • Compare service levels and perform due diligence risk assessments periodically.
  • Support Network Management team with onsite visits coordination (travel not required) by providing necessary information to complement such trips .
  • Ensuring any potential assets that are held are protected and held through appropriate account structures.
  • Provision of consulting services offering in depth understanding and knowledge of the resilience provider service provisions.
  • Support negotiation of legal documentation and fee reviews/negotiation where necessary.
  • Strategically and operationally support Northern Trust business units in relation to related resiliency framework where appropriate.
Knowledge/Skills
  • Prior Network Management experience preferred.
  • Possess a level knowledge and expertise across related functions such as risk management / global custody / securities services.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage external relationships.
  • Comfortable presenting in front of sub-custodians, clients and internal stakeholders/management.
  • Demonstrated experience in risk management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
  • Demonstrated ownership skills.
  • Proficiency in organisation and time management.
  • Prior and successful project management skills.
  • Self-motivated and team player with a flexible attitude and adaptive approach.
