Job Description

OverviewThe IM Control Specialist is an embedded control function which supports the IM business and is responsible for ensuring Investment Managements alignment with the corporate operational risk management and compliance frameworks. The candidate will work to identifyrelated activities whereby efficiencies, consistency and connectivity can be enhanced and/or coordinated. The primary function of this role is to provide support to the IM business by assisting the IM firms/businesses with implementation of regulatory oversightand governance related to Operational Risk and Compliance, engaging with internal control functions (i.e., Audit, Enterprise Risk Assurance) and IM Risk & Compliance (2LoD). Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing support to the IM business by monitoring IMs compliance with the Operational Risk Management and Compliance Frameworks and policies; communicating Risk & Compliance policy changes, Risk Management Platform functional changes and enhancementsand partnering with the IM Operational Risk and Compliance teams.
  • Communicating and educating the IM business regarding Operational & Compliance frameworks and related systems and regulatory and policy requirements.
  • Assisting the IM business in responding to requests and challenges from Corporate Operational Risk or Compliance; providing quality assurance to ensure timely remediation of issues raised.
This position requires knowledge of the Financial Services Industry regulations, compliance, operations, or auditing. Requires strong oral and written communication skills, problem solving and project management abilities, and the ability to implement regulatoryoversight management policies and procedures. Verify practices against policies, with general oversight. Prepare management reports and alert management to any urgent matters or findings. Counsel business personnel on first line of defense compliance withpolicies. Provide advice to entry-level employees. No direct reports: provides guidance to less experienced team members. Contributes to the achievement of team objectives. Supports moderately complex projects and provides insight on interpretation of regulations.Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Advanced/graduate degree preferred.
