About the team:The SPA is a borough wide centralised mental health service that directs people to the right support first time.The aim of the service is too undertake a comprehensive screen and triage of peoples mental health needs (following introduction and self-introduction) and to provide offers of support through either the Lambeth Living Well Network or to the mental health system’s menu of options to ensure people access the right offer for them in a timely manner.About the role:The post holder will advise on the delivery of, high quality safe care, ensuring consistent high standards of practice, and clinical excellence which comply with their registered professional body and code of professional conduct.The post holder is responsible for the clinical decision making, the process and oversight of all of the screening and triaging for mental health pathway referrals. The Lambeth Single Point of Access service is accessible for adults’ ages between 18-65 years, in the borough of LAs a SPA Mental Health Practitioner you will need to ensure high standards of practice in safeguarding, the management of risk, and the delivery of effective telephone consultation with those whom access the service. This will include deciding the best pathway for the individual.The successful candidate will be clinically confident in assessing and make independent decisions for those accessing the Lambeth SPA service. You will thrive in a fast paced environment, often working under pressure. You will possess a high standard of good telephone manner, excellent assessment, communication skills and interpersonal skills.The post holder will make decisions about where cases meet particular thresholds and sign post to other services where appropriate, ensuring that adults receive the appropriate mental health service only where this is necessary, making the best use of the resources and to prevent entering specialist services where this isn’t necessary.You will be expected to recognise, value, encourage and empower service users to have an optimum level of responsibility, promoting the ‘principles of recovery’.As a senior member of staff working within the Lambeth Alliance you are required to encourage and foster collaborative and cross organisational workingAbout the location:The Team is based at 332 Brixton Road which is the North Living Well Centre Community Base.The team base is within easy reach of Brixton underground and Brixton Train station and regular bus routes.Benefits:We are committed to ensuring our staff get the most out of their benefits package and understand the importance of a healthy work life balance.
