Job; Software Release Manager - Remote (UK) or Hybrid (London) This company, headquartered in London is growing fast (theyve recently announced a $2 billion SPAC deal to go public on NASDAQ). To underpin this growth, theyre investing in their management team. Theyre looking for skilled and confident individuals tojoin them in the delivery and success of their flagship product, which addresses a global market for consumer mobile engagement and mobile commerce.The Role;Theyre looking for a skilled Software Release Manager with a winning attitude. Their successful candidate will be responsible for and have ownership of the release of their software to their customers in a consistent, efficient and top-quality process,whether this is mobile applications in iOS / Android or Backend cloud native microservices.This involves leading their engineering teams to co-ordinate, deliver and develop the delivery of their many product releases. They are on a journey of moving from a largely manual delivery process to a DevOps driven continuous delivery mechanism into productionon a regular automated release cadence.Reporting into their Director of Engineering, this role requires a passionate individual who understands both the manual way of delivering software releases but also the knowledge and passion to drive forward their to-be automated delivery mechanism. Thereare many hurdles to overcome which will require working with customers and internal engineering teams to rethink their release mechanism for some products to achieve their goals.Required Skills and Experience;

• Ability to operate and deliver change across multiple departments in matrix environment is essential
• Exposure to owning and operating ISO27001 controls is essential
• Comfortable in software engineering practices (e.g. tagging code in repos for automatic releases)
• Strong stakeholder management experience.
• Strong track record of improving operations with a focus on improving the customer experience.
• Good knowledge of DevOps tools and processes.
• Strong understanding of cyber security and risk.
• Exposure to project management processes.
• Excellent communicator (up to C level) with strong time management and prioritisation skills
• Comfortable and adapt at operating in a matrix environment

Responsibilities;

• Ensure delivery of releases to customers based on schedules agreed with customers and before legislative dates.
• Agree schedules of upgrades with customers.
• Lead the release co-ordination, release deployment working with DevOps team
• Work closely with Product Owners to make the release process as efficient and effective as possible.
• Publish a calendar of when customers are getting releases on a regular cadence.
• Drive an automation initiative to implement a high degree of automation within the release process.
• Work with Head of QA to improve release quality (continuous improvement)
• Test and debug Java, .Net and other applications
• Work with QA teams to validate software functionality and security
