  • Java 8 / 11, Springboot, Maven, ReactJS, RequireJS, gulp, grunt, less
Essential technical experience required for this role includes:
  • Demonstrable experience of Continuous Delivery software development methods, including Test-driven development (TDD) and automated testing (including non-functional testing)
  • Java server side development experience
  • HTML, JavaScript, CSS knowledge
  • Experience of working in Unix environments
  • Understanding of Microservices
  • Exposure to GCP
  • Experience of working with global organisations
Additional desirable (but not essential) experience required for this role includes:
  • Experience of REST services
  • Experience of SQL and relational databases
Non-technical experience required for this role includes:
  • An ability to write technical documentation
  • An ability to liaise effectively with users - this will include client managers, relationship managers and business functions (eg. Legal, Ops, KYC). Therefore, any knowledge of the Banking sector would be highly desirable
The successful candidate will have:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work comfortably both within a team and independently as required
  • A flexible approach to delivery responsibility
Position summary:Our clients banking team are looking for a hands-on Software Engineering Lead to help support one of their large global banking clients. Their current technology stack is Java on the backend and HTML5 on the front end with ReactJS mostly being used for buildingapps.Job role and responsibilities:The successful candidate will join the team as a Software Engineering Lead and will work with the broader team of developers helping define the technology vision, define the standards against which the team work, and push the boundaries of how the team design,develop, test and release against the various HTML5 and Java (server side) components. As a Senior Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will be expected to perform the following duties with a high level of competence:
  • Lead development teams and liaise with nominated business stakeholders when required to ensure that business requirements are fully understood before commencing design and development
  • Forward thinking for mobile devices and required accessibility
  • Implement best-of-breed technical solutions based on agreed technical design, adopting industry standard development patterns and methodologies (including continuous integration and automated unit and integration testing)
  • Be able to make day to day technical and architectural decisions that align with our delivery principles and our main target of delivering business value
  • Train, support, and mentor more junior developers
  • Support the developers in owning the end to end delivery of software from analysis through to release to production and support. We deliver each change to production before moving onto the next
  • Everyone in our team releases code to production, everyone in our team raises production change requests, everyone in our team does production support
  • Participate in intra-day and overnight Support
