Job Description

My client is an exciting global financial technology company that integrates businesses with their suppliers through a secure e-invoicing platform to faciliate payments, improve cash management and provide real-time spend analysis and MI is seeking a Java Software Development Manager to join their exciting team.Job Purpose:The Software Development Manager is responsible for leading a group of Java Developers & QA engineers based in Kiev working on a variety of my clients products operating in a number of agile teams following Scrum or Kanban.The Development Manager operates outside of the Agile teams leading the engineering practices, resourcing and is the technical authority for their products.The Development Manager is expected to work collaboratively with their peers including the Head of Technical Operations, Head of Product, Head of IT Delivery and .Net Software Development Manager.Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading / Growing / Mentoring team of 25+ developers/QA based in Kiev
  • Implement Good/Best Engineering practices - Development , Testing & Architecturally
  • Work closely with the Technology groups Solutions architects to define new product blueprints
  • Agile Development planning
  • Optimising output through organising plans, development methods, standards etc.
  • Working closely and collaboratively with Product , Delivery Management and Support for new development and support
  • Drive process and development innovation
  • Own and Manage the release cycle
  • Deliver Product Roadmap with high levels of quality and timely deliveries
  • Accountable for people management decisions including recruitment, setting objectives, performance management, recommending reward and/or bonus.
  • Ensuring 3rd Line Support activities meet Service Level Agreements
    • Experience and Knowledge:
  • Experience of running a development team of 10+ people remote team is essential
  • Experience of operating in a larger technology group (Circa 140) and collaborating across different teams to enable effective delivery of projects/products
  • Ideally Experience working in a Product organisation and ideally Fintech
  • Practical hands on experience in a Java technology environment is important but this is not expected to be a hands on role
  • This role is responsible for platforms built using Java, Apache Nifi, Kafka, SpringBoot, Angular 7+ and Oracle, experience with some of these technologies is important
  • Continuous Integration & Deployment is achieved using a combination of Jenkins, Teamcity & Octopus deploy. Experience is one or all of these technologies is important.
  • My client utilizes AWS , Docker and Kubernetes. Experience in some of these technologies is important.
