Job Description

Software Development ManagerSalary - up to £110k + Bonus + BenefitsWe are partnered with one of the worlds largest retailers of consumer goods from food to fashion to banking and more!They require a Software Development Manager to lead the largest team in the business handling crucial functionalities of a platform that consumes over 1-billion hits a week!The Software Development Manager will lead a complex distributed system which requires the engineering team to tackle and ensure high availability and performance!We are offering the Software Development Manager:

  • Impactful development work that effects the day-to-day lives of millions across onsite stores, websites and mobile apps
  • A challenging and diverse role split across management (90%) and hands-on architectural/design work (10%)
  • Flexible working with 2 days remote offered
The tech used is, Java, Vert.x, RxJava, Groovy, Couchbase and Kafka, among other technologies. They run on AWS with fully automated testing in a continuous deployment pipeline.The team works according to Agile principles, adapting Kanban and other techniques as appropriate to succeed. As the Software Development Manager, youll focus on continuous improvement across the teams - enhancing conhesion, the working environment, Agileprinciples/methodologies and future tech directionThe company are based in central London and will provide flexible working hours as well as remote working per week (likely 2-3 days).
