Job Description

Our mission is simple to help the world love Mondays!We are working with a large Counter Terrorism Policing unit in London who are looking for a Software Developer to join their team.

  • £600 - £700 per day Umbrella (Outside IR35)
  • Initially 6 months with potential of an extension
  • CTC will be required which can take around 8-12 weeks
  • Lambeth
Key Responsibilities -
  • Maintenance, issue resolution and development of a Django web application and associated databases and servers
  • Liaison with users, partners and suppliers to resolve application, database and network issues, including configuration and performance problems
  • Maintaining security and reliability of the servers and data, including access management, backups, certificate management and system monitoring
  • Maintenance of code repository and automation of deployment process to multiple virtual servers
  • Maintaining application and systems documentation as required
Essential Criteria -
  • Django Backend development experience (Python, MySQL, Django ORM)
  • Familiarity with configuration control under a Quality Management System
  • Qualified to degree level in engineering, computer science or a related subject OR having significant directly relevant experience.
  • Experience of network administration in a multi-platform environment (Windows, Linux).
  • Experience of user support with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including production of technical and user documentation
  • A good understanding of relevant internet and local network standards, protocols and hardware, including security, virtualisation, and remote desktop technology. Quick to learn new technologies.
  • A logical approach enabling you to work through complex problems in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
  • Able to work independently and research solutions to problems
  • Accurate record keeping and attention to detail
Desirable Criteria -
  • Full stack development experience (including Django templates, JQuery, Bootstrap CSS)
  • Development experience in other environments and languages e.g. .NET, desktop, mobile apps
  • Experienced in full Software Development Lifecycle including requirements and automated testing
  • Experience of administering any of the following technologies:
    • Other databases including MS SQL Server or non-relational databases
    • Virtualisation technologies including Hyper V
    • Lab Information Management Systems (LIMS)
    • Linux servers
    • Email servers and associated technologies
    • XML documents and workflows
