Opportunity for exceedingly high calibre individuals who have experience in the software / IT industry and who have a strong academic record of achievement. You will be looking to develop skills in Data Engineering solving complex data heavy business problems using best of breed technology. You be focused on providing solutions around enterprise scale high performance real time data engineering. Prior Data Engineering experience is not required. Full training, mentoring and coaching will be provided. Your background should include working in either C++ or Java environments, this role is not to be a Software Developer but you will still get to use your coding skills from time to time. The role is more of a Consultant / Architect level position where you will operate at both a high-level but also at a low level from time to time. Core activities will be working with clients to develop use cases, proof of concepts, implementation and directing & training clients in-house technical teams. Class leading software vendor is seeking high calibre Software Consultants to provide quality consultancy services to their clients, which includes many FTSE100 and Fortune500 companies. The work is varied and includes developing state of the art proof of concepts, systems implementation, mentoring and assisting clients with complex problem solving across their technology landscape. The solutions you will be involved in providing will include: Metadata Management, Data Governance, Real Time data processing, Parallel processing and Data Engineering.It is likely you will have some commercial experience in roles that include programming in either Java, C++ or Python but you are now looking for a broader role that will still challenge you technical but will also provide a broader business / commercial appeal. Your programming experence could have been in the past, this role is also appealing to candidates who have reached senior level roles but no longer find those roles stimulating.In terms of prior experience and skills the emphasis is more on having a broad range knowledge and strong technical aptitude overall as opposed to a specific technical skill set. Although an interest / a background in the following is desirable:Databases such as Oracle, DB2, Teradata, Sybase etcAny knowledge of C, C++, C#, Java, Python etcAny knowledge of TensorFlow, R, Matlab, SAS, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Deeplearning4j, Python (SciPy, NumPy, Pandas), Informatica etcUnix scriptingSuperb modern and up to date working environment with a very flat non-management structure.
