Job Description

Software Asset Manager required to work with a Government department. This is an initial 6 month contract, inside IR35, paying £425 per day. This is a remote contract until further notice (offices based in London). Ideally you will hold valid SC CLEARANCE or be eligible for SC ClearanceYou will be responsible for supporting any activities related to software asset management from the programme. You will be the conduit between the programme team and the BAU Live services teams to ensure all processes meet the requirements of all stakeholders and quality assure the continued management of configuration items. You will work with the programme and the BAU software asset management team to improve processes around the management of software licenses, including entitlement management, end-2-end request and fulfilment of licensing to end users with a strong emphasis on automation of fulfilment activity. You will be responsible for the quality of software asset data and will ensure that operational processes are fit for purpose and are being adhered to.You will take a lead from a programme perspective on any work related to integration of software asset data sources and discovery related external toolsets into ServiceNow to ensure these are fit for purpose and align to the wider SACM requirements.Role Responsibilities*Work collaboratively with programme teams and BAU stakeholders:*Administer and develop the tools and technologies as required to support recording of license entitlement and re-harvesting.*Support SACM / SAM in the population of the CMDB and auditing to maintain accuracy across the license estate*Manage and develop processes with the programme and BAU related to software asset entitlement, compliance management and deployment/ recall from users*Manage and respond to queries on entitlement, process and governance *Support vendor entitlement audits as required*Maintain Configuration Items naming conventions, identification standards for object types, environment, processes, etc*Manage agreed interfaces with the Transition and Service teams in the programme, Change and Configuration Management team and other users of the CMDB*Management of libraries, toolset and data, ensuring housekeeping and maintenance is undertaken*Analyse and provide software asset related data for governance, performance and other reporting purposes, including providing input into commercial reviews and future requirements for software assets*Ensure suitable data outputs and status reports are produced on schedule.Skills and Experiences Required: *Experience in a SAM role, including developing, managing and maturing SAM processes*Good understanding of ServiceNow and other software asset management tooling.*Experience with integration of SAM tooling into CMDB and external data sources*Proven ability to identify and improve performance and software costs measurement and reporting processes in a large organisation*Experience of creating and distributing comprehensive reports from several sources back to the business*Experience of working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams with a delivery focus in both project and operational environments*Fully conversant with Microsoft Office Professional including Word, PowerPoint, Excel (advanced skills) and common diagramming tools*A wide experience of flexible and proactive information gathering and data analysis*Experience of creating and interpreting monthly reporting statistics for complex IT environments*Strong personal organisation skills and ability to manage own time to meet deadlines*Ability and confidence to take charge of diverse tasks and deliver high quality work in a challenging and ever-changing environment.Required Qualifications: *ITIL Intermediate - Service operationsPlease apply should you meet the above criteriaBadenoch + Clark acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
