Job Description

The Company:Were a global charity group founded on the belief that investment done well can benefit everyone and the planet - were motivated to make societal and environmental impact at the heart of business and investment decisions.Were registered as an independent charity and headquartered in London -with staff in Paris, Brussels, Buenos Aires, Nairobi and Rome.Our global influence is built on a unique and growing group of National Advisory Boards, currently representing 35 countries, with 20 more in the pipeline. These National Advisory Boards (NABs) bring together experts in the fields of investment, public policyand social and environmental innovation. Their role is to drive more capital towards the achievement of the SDGs in the countries in which they operate and beyond.This is a mostly virtual position for someone based in the UK- with the opportunity to work in our sustainable work space in Waterloo. It is a 6 month internship, suitable for a graduate, paying £25k per annum- from May - November 2022.The Role:Were looking for a graduate to join, whos ideally got a keen interest in Impact and sustainability (ideally combined with an interest in finance or events or international development), to join in a market development position.We conduct 3 international events a year and your role will revolve around providing support in the market development team across all activities relating to this.The role can be split in to the following:Events & Convenings support (~30%)

  • Event Logistics
  • Speaker Management:
  • Comms & Marketing:
Knowledge Development Support (30%)
  • Project Management: meeting set up, coordination, and follow up; write up of meeting notes
  • Research: Light-touch desktop research related to scoping, mapping, and write-up of cross-cutting thematic topics and impact investing trends
  • External knowledge sharing: Write up and design (using Canva, PPT) of short blogs, newsletters, listicles, news roundups, and other special features
  • Research and support in liaising with 35+ country partners to update impact investment country profiles
Knowledge Management Support (~30%)
  • Database management & data cleaning
  • Develop guidelines for the database management
  • Acquisition of new contacts via our partners
  • Analysis of data related to knowledge events participants (number of registrants, attendees, feedback form)
  • Reorganising knowledge events material (e.g. create a list of all past knowledge events)
  • Input data into Salesforce system
Extra Info:You will need your own laptop and access to reliable internet as you will work primarily from home. We have access to Sustainable Workspaces as a central London base and meets at its Waterloo offices as required, about once every 2-3 weeks.The ideal candidates personality and qualifications:

  • You enjoy a challenge, able to work under pressure to deadlines and comfortable working independently using your own initiative.
  • The candidate must be fluent in written and spoken English, other European languages may be beneficial.
  • Vision/passion for the impact sector
  • An effective communicator, particularly with international stakeholders
  • Experience writing and communicating in a journalistic style
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working with others to ensure project components stay on track in the face of competing priorities
  • Confident using social media in a professional capacity
  • Ability to learn new tools, including software solutions quickly
  • The ability to analyse and interpret data from surveys
  • Willingness to work independently, seeking support and advice from others when you need it
  • Ability to juggle multiple pieces of work and prioritise
  • Strong team spirit with an ability to interact with a high performing team working across geographies in a fast-paced environment
  • Good knowledge of MS Excel
  • Familiar with other MS Office/googlesuite packages including Word and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Hubilo, Cvent, Slack, Monday.com and virtual event platforms is preferable, but not essential as training will be provided. Experience with Canva is a plus!
