Overview of the Advisory & Consulting service lineThe Advisory & Consultingservice line is a rapidly growing, award winning, global group of successful teams working together to present a go-to-market differentiator whilst delivering the highest quality of work for our clients.If you are successful in securing a role within our Advisory & Consulting Service Line you will join a team of600+innovative specialists across a variety of sectors including Financial Services, Industry & Services, and Public Services with consultativeexpertise in Risk & Management Consulting, Internal Audit, Actuarial and all aspects of the Tech & Digital space. Our Advisory teams are at the forefront of large international infrastructure projects, global M&A transactions, high-profile forensic investigations,business valuations, corporate restructuring and creditor advisory services; all with the aim of adding value to clients by finding solutions to a range of financial issues as one collaborative team.Our specialist Technology Consulting and Assurance team deliver IT assurance and advisory work to a range of clients nationally and internationally. Our broad range of clients, including those in FTSE 350, allow you to gain experience across a range ofsectors including:

  • Financial Services, Banking, Insurance and Investment
  • Corporates/Private Sector/Industry & Services
  • Central and Local Government
  • Retail and Consumer products organisations
SOC IT Assurance - Associate Director Our IT Assurance service line operates nationally in the UK and serves all strategic markets and organisations from the small to the large and complex.We have a growing portfolio of clients for whom we perform SOC (system and organisational controls) reviews and we are looking to grow the team to focus on this service offering, whilst supporting our other IT assurance work.Would you like to be part of a growing service line Do you have a passion for IT risks and controls, and specifically SOC work If so, we would love to hear from you.The ideal candidate would have a combination of the following:
  • substantial experience in delivering and/or managing 3rd party assurance engagements;
  • a proven track record of working on multiple engagements, ensuring the delivery of high-quality work within the deadline and to budget;
  • good stakeholder management skills, both internal and external;
  • a solid understanding of the SOC framework and standards, including ISAE 3402; ISAE 3000; AAF 01/20; SOC 1 and SOC 2;
  • the ability to work under pressure across a portfolio of clients;
  • effective communication skills, verbal and written, including, report writing;
  • project management skills, keeping track of progress and issues;
  • a strong academic background with a degree at a minimum;
  • the ability to manage a team and provide ongoing guidance to more junior members of the team; and
  • the ability to foster strong relationships and to identify and pursue business development opportunities.
The job role comprises the following:
  • building and developing strong working relationships with the client, ensuring any problems or requests are dealt with promptly and escalated where required;
  • managing a portfolio of clients;
  • writing proposals and attending client pitches as appropriate;
  • helping to develop and update methodologies;
  • training and developing staff in the SOC methodology.
  • responsibility for executing and managing day to day 3rd party assurance work and reviews on behalf of a number of clients in the UK / globally;
  • delivering work to the highest technical standards including ensuring the work is conducted in line with Mazars Quality standards;
  • supporting junior staff and taking an active part in their development;
  • supporting the Director to manage specific streams of work and staff in the work stream;
  • testing design and operating effectiveness of controls;
  • reviewing of the outputs of more junior staff members;
  • drafting of client deliverables including reports;
  • day-to-day client liaison; and
  • supporting clients through readiness assessments for such services.
