As a Sight Loss Counsellor Team Leader, you will provide high quality time-limited counselling and information over the telephone and online to people who are affected by sight loss. The role will include holding a case load, line managing 4 counsellorsand actively contributing to our service developments in a leading position.The Sight Loss Counselling team provides counselling and information over the phone and online to people who are impacted by sight loss. Our client group is diverse, with the majorityof clients being over the age of 50. We also offer our service to children and young people, run training workshops on Sight Loss Counselling and facilitate short-term support groups for people with sight loss and their friends and families.The successfulcandidate will have a knowledge of a range of counselling approaches, supported by a recognised diploma level counselling qualification or equivalent. Your experience will need to include delivering effective telephone and online counselling within a timelimited framework, whilst managing waiting lists effectively. Line management experience is also required and evidence of managing other counsellors specifically will be advantageous.
