Job Description

Shift Manager / Shift Supervisor - PackagingLocation: LondonSalary: DOECompany: A leading packaging manufacturer.Role: An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Shift Manager to join a leading manufacturer in London.As part of the senior production team, you will oversee the planning of production and ensure that the shift is running efficiently as well as proving a service that meets the expectations and needs of its clients.

  • Supervise the day-to-day production and shift, continuously striving to ensure employees meet and exceed contractual key performance indicators in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • You will help promote a positive culture and environment.
  • Focus on driving improvement.
  • Oversee production planning, liaise between departments and ensure the business is adequately resourced.
  • Management of production schedule resources to consistently meet the output targets of the business.
  • Management of work output to ensure the business operates efficiently, meets the requirements of its clients and operates within set budgets.
  • Providing a leadership support function to teams and motivating staff to achieve production goals.
  • Driving excellence and continuously striving for improvement.
  • Liaising with trade houses and internal stakeholders to operate effectively
  • Promoting new ideas and alternative methods of efficiency.
  • Leading a team of up to 30 people.
    • Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a shift supervisor / shift manager role.
  • Experience working within a packaging manufacturer - strong print / packaging background.
  • Experience managing a team and can manage personnel effectively.
  • Experience and knowledge of various print processes including flexo and gravure.
  • Cardboard pack format experience highly desirable (corrugated).
  • Experience running CI initiatives - lean manufacturing, six sigma, 5S as well as ISO procedures, health and safety etc. - desirable
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Eye for detail.
  • Willingness, drive and a strong work ethic.
  • A strong customer focus and commitment to service delivery as well as the ability to build relationships.
