Job Description

The Trading Team is primarily responsible for executing physical and financial trades in the UK, with the Trading Team managing all real time operations, forward and prompt power and gas trading and physical trade and flow nominations. In the role of Settlement Analyst, you will be working closely with Traders executing the various traded products to ensure accurate booking of trades, confirmations and invoicing and undertake any other tasks related to settlement from theiractivities.The role provides an excellent opportunity for a talented and motivated individual to gain exposure to the energy market and working within a highly ambitious company. You will be working as part of a team team responsible for ensuring the timely notification, confirmation, invoicing and settlement of a variety of products such as physical gas and power. You will be supporting the trading desk in counterparty relationshipand in ensuring quality information flows across the business and take action to resolve any disputes. You will also be supporting and initiating improvements to trading systems and work flow processes within the Settlements and Trading teams.

  • Ensuring that all trades are booked accurately and checked thoroughly in the Trading systems
  • Responsible for electronic matching of gas and power trades using the Equias ECM system and familiar with the processes and dispute procedures and able to identify and resolve any issues relating to confirmations
  • Responsible for maintaining excellent counterparty and broker relationships to manage the confirmations workflow to ensure in-bound broker and counterparty confirmations are checked and agreed on the day of receipt and any disputes swiftlyresolved
  • Responsible for notifying power positions to Elexon and checking the Forward Contract Reports and other settlement reports from Elexon. Where mismatches occur, investigate with counterparties and traders to rectify
  • Checking Exchange based trades for power and gas
  • Production of invoices for the various commodities and products according to the specific contractual terms by generating sales and pro-forma purchase invoices
  • Maintaining excellent working relationships with counterparties and other teams within the organisation
  • Working closely with Traders to support and initiate improvements to the trading systems and work flow processes within Settlements, Finance and across Trading
  • Ensuring all processes and procedures are constantly reviewed, documented and updated.
  • Providing regulatory reporting and supporting the month end reporting and invoicing processes
