The WEA is a unique charity and the UK`s largest voluntary sector provider of adult education. We are looking for ESOL tutors based in the Aberdeen city and Aberdeenshire area to support us in delivering ESOL courses to learners within the city and morerural areas such as Peterhead. The WEA delivers using the social practice method of teaching and works with adult ESOL learners in a community setting. We currently deliver most of our provision online, however, there is some potential for a blended modelof learning where face to face may be necessary and are therefore recruiting some more locally based tutors. We have new and exciting roles for ESOL Tutors in Scotland working with groups ranging from complete beginner literacy learners to beginner, elementaryand pre-intermediate ESOL. We are looking for experienced Tutors with:-Up to date working knowledge and experience of teaching ESOL - TEFL/ CELTA/ relevant teaching qualification and/or equivalent experience desirable.-Experience of working in community settings.-Confidentdigital skills and experience of teaching ESOL online.-Experience of working with a range of ESOL levels. -Experience of planning, resourcing and delivering your own course materials. -A strong understanding of adult learning and a belief in its importance-Experienceof teaching with a learner centred approach/ social practice model.-Experience of delivering non accredited and accredited courses-Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills-A desire to share and improve teaching practiceYou will be keen to engage withpeople from a range of disadvantaged backgrounds and rekindle their love of learning, and you will share our passion for egalitarianism and empowerment.
