We have an opportunity available for a Service Manager to join us based in 2 services in Balham and Tooting. (SW London). You will join us on a full time, permanent basis and in return, we are offering acompetitive salary of £31,826 per annum.Servol Community Services is a charity providing person-centred support to adults affected by and recovering from mental health conditions. Support is provided to people in accommodation that meets their needs. These include residential 24 hour staffed services, semi supported accommodation and supporting individuals living in their own homes in the community.About the role: Our Service Manager is responsible for the organisation and leadership of the Mental Health Recovery team across two units (Balham & Tooting). In conjunction with the Regional Operations Manager, you will also be responsible for the assessment of support needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of support programmes. Our Service Manager is also the centre point of developing strong networks of key stakeholders and other organisations to aide service users to achieve their personal goals and contribute to their local community, as far as possible.Additional key duties and responsibilities of our Service Manager include:- Be responsible for maintaining quality standards across two units, ensuring that appropriate standards/ regulations are met.- Promote independent living and oversee the improvement of daily living skills for all service-users via a range of activities and opportunities.- Ensure that an appropriate key worker is assigned to a service users on admission to the unit and their welfare is assessed on a daily basis by that key worker.- Developing effective working relationships with external agencies (such as CPNs, Social Workers, training and development organisations, Community Mental Teams etc.) to provide a strong support network for service users.- Be fully responsible for collating data and producing a range of accurate and professional reports for internal and external use.- Ensure that service users are supported to maintain/develop relationships through establishing and building supportive links with parents/relatives/or significant others.- Organise and manage the staff rota and ensure that there is appropriate staff cover within the unit.- In partnership with Regional Operations Manager and HR Manager, play a key role in workforce planning, recruitment and selection of staff- Coach and mentor staff to build confidence and competence, and to ensure professional standards and performance are prioritised and maintained.- Take the lead in the design and development of new starter induction and learning and development opportunities for staff.- Identify any capability or disciplinary issues and act swiftly and appropriately to investigate fairly and legally- Carry out a range of Health and Safety checks/audits across the units.- To take a flexible approach in managing across two units, but also providing cover for other London units, where required.* This is not an exhaustive list of your duties *In return for joining us, we will offer benefits including: - PerkBox – employee retail discount scheme- Pension- 28 days holidaySkills and experience required to become our Service Manager: - Level 4 in Health & Social Care qualification (NVQ/Cache/HNC or equivalent)- Relevant experience working in a management/supervisory role in a care or social care support role- Some experience of working in housing management is advantageous- Substantial experience of working as a Senior Support Worker/Recovery Worker- To have proven experience in working in/and with the community- Working knowledge of Housing Support Preventative services (supporting people)- Be able to communicate professionally, clearly and accurately, orally and in writing- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)- Knowledge of mental health and the relevant statutory and voluntary sector bodies such as housing associations and Commission of Social Care Inspectorate and Supporting People- Substantial knowledge of health and safety issues relating to housing management and managing risk, and a commitment to developing service and organisational standardsIf you feel that you have the skills and experience required to become our Service Manager, please click ‘apply’ today – we would love to hear from you.
