We are actively recruiting to a new Service Manager role to support the introduction of the successful Family Safeguarding model into our Children Looked After Service, on a 12 month fixed term contract or secondment. We are looking for an individual withextensive Family Safeguarding experience, resilience; passion and enthusiasm who will share our aspiration for improving outcomes for Hertfordshires looked after children and care leavers.Family is at the heart of our work in Hertfordshire and that includessupporting our children and young people in our care to reunite with their families, where this would be safe, secure and in their best interests.The Family Safeguarding model is a framework which has been highlighted as a beacon of best practice in the Governmentsrecent National Review into the tragic murders of Arthur Labinjo-Hughes and Star Hobson.The review concluded that: "Practice frameworks such as Family Safeguarding Hertfordshire have shown us the great value of bringing highly skilled, multi-agency professionalstogether into a single team with a shared vision and purpose."The Family Safeguarding model centres around a multi-disciplinary team who are highly trained in Motivational Interviewing, a counselling approach that creates confidence in parents to change theirbehaviours that cause harm to their children.This extension of the Family Safeguarding model to children in care sets out to empower families, and their extended networks to help children achieve the best outcomes by having parental mental health, substancemisuse and domestic abuse specialists all working in one team, alongside childrens social workers and life coaches.For more information on Hertfordshires Family Safeguarding model visit familysafeguarding Your Skills and ExperienceApplicants for this postwill need a professional Social Work qualification and be Social Work England registered. Successful candidates will have worked in a similar setting previously and have experience of staff supervision and management. You will have the ability to develop andsustain partnerships across teams and be an effective advocate for the Council. Strategic thinking and project management are key to this role. You will have experience of budget forecasting and analysing financial information.
