Job Description

This role will be based in our Westminster Office but requires the post holder to travel to our Head Office in Hoddesdon weekly.The Role: As Service Charge Accountant you will be responsible for the day to day management of financial service charge budgets for residential block managed properties. You will work closely with the Property Manager provide reporting, data analysis and queryresolutionacross a range of residential properties portfolios.

  • To provide property managers with financial information as requested within a reasonable timeframe.
  • To deal with day to day queries from clients and Property Managers.
  • Producing periodic reporting to Clients / Property Managers
  • Undertake transfer of funds correctly within client accounts
  • Preparation of account pack for AGMs and other property review meetings
  • Ensure service charge budgets are entered into the system accurately and within a timely manner when received.
  • Prepare and send budget reports for properties to the Finance manager on a monthly basis
  • Assist the Property manager in financial interpretation and analysis
  • Work and assist auditor when needed
  • Process any agreed instructions such as adjustments when require
  • Preparation on new building accounts including any void calculations
  • Attend and support Property manager at review meeting or AGMs
What skills, knowledge or experience will you have
  • Educated to GCSE (or equivalent) level with passes in English language and a relevant mathematical / accounting subject
  • Professional qualification such as AAT completed or very nearly completed.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience of working in an service charge or property accounting environment
  • Microsoft Excel in particular at intermediate level ( V look Ups, Sum ifs, equations, Pivot tables)
  • High attention to detail with the ability to see and challenge information
  • Curious nature with the ability to analyse and investigate accounting anomalies
  • Strong communication skills, able to liaise with non-financial internal and external Customers
  • Self-motivated and organised, able to prioritise own workload
  • A team player, demonstrates working towards a common goal
  • Strong customer focus, understanding both internal and external stakeholders requirements
