Job Description

Marlin Selection are currently working with an innovative energy trading firm that particularly focuses on renewable energy and are backed by a Fortune 500 listed company; they are presently hiring for a Senior Vice President of Trading to join their teamin London.In this role, one of your main responsibilities will be managing the Trading team as well as the Optimisation team, it is more of a managerially orientated role ensuring the success and engagement of the Trading and Optimisation teams.Your responsibilities would include (but are not limited to):

  • Oversight of the UK company’s gas and power strategy and its execution in accordance with the Company’s Business Plan and budgets
  • Oversight of the Group’s global renewable trading strategy and its execution in accordance with the Company’s Business Plan and budgets
  • Oversight of the UK’s volume risk management, optimisation and transfer pricing strategy and its execution in accordance with the Company’s Business Plan and budgets.
  • Working closely with the Senior Vice President Global Human Resources to ensure the UK Trading group’s staff are engaged and competitively remunerated with an active training, development and succession plan in accordance with the UK Trading Group’s StrategicWorkforce Plan
  • Support the UK’s Chief Executive Officer led and wider organisational objectives
  • Working closely with the UK and Group Executive Committees to ensure the execution and success of the UK Trading group’s European gas and power expansion and global renewables expansion;
You will need to have the following experience:
  • An experienced leader and general manager from a commodity trading environment with a proven track record of building and leading high performance trading teams;
  • A proven track record of delivering commercial budgets
  • Extensive and current knowledge of traded electricity markets with a strong understanding of the UK and core EU markets considered highly beneficial.
