Senior UI Application Engineering Lead

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior lead software engineer to join a new team within the Institutional Client Group building a modern set of common functional services, frameworks and libraries leveraged by UI application development steams acrossICG to build, rich end-user applications, workflows and processes. The Role:As a lead in the UI Platform team, you will be helping to design and maintain the next generation of our flagship desktop application framework and the services that back this up. Your solutions will be used by tens of thousands of developers across Citi supportingapplications used by hundreds of thousands of internal and client users, and must be simple to use, well documented with an excellent developer experience. This role is for a strong engineer and leader with a strong bias towards simple, intuitive UIs, andexperience of delivering desktop applications leveraging web technologies on the desktop using Electron based frameworks. What youll be doing:Leading a global team of diverse engineers creating the next generation of desktop UI frameworks and support services. This is a hands-on technical role, building UI services and solutions that will be leveraged by developers. You will demonstrate sound engineering principles including following 12-factor methodology and a good understanding of modern CI/CD toolsets. Advocate and advance modern software development practices, including privacy and security first principles. Incorporate DevSecOps and SRE best practices, helping engineering teams navigate complex security and risk requirements and architect innovative solutionsthat are secure, resilient, and scalable. • You have a proven background in leading global teams and experience dealing with the challenges this can present.
• You are a full-stack software engineer with a passion for building modern, fully observable solutions.
• You have solid experience in an agile development environment with modern programming languages and technologies such as React, Angular, TypeScript or Java/Spring Boot.
• You have a working knowledge of applications built upon the Electron project and the complications that Electron development can bring.
• You have deep experience of developing native desktop applications on Windows.

• You ideally have used vendor frameworks built upon Electron such as OpenFin, Finsemble or Glue42.
• You may have had experience with implementing 12-Factor cloud-native applications using open and solutions such as Docker, Kubernetes, and public cloud providers.
• You are familiar with DevSecOps disciplines and have an understanding of CI/CD using modern tools such as TeamCity, Jenkins, Tekton, Spinnaker etc.
