Job Description

They have a reputation for providing one of the best working environmentswithin the industry and are renowned for shifting the focus to personal development by giving unique opportunities for employers to excel.Ideally, we are seeking a Senior Transport Planner who wants to work on a diverse range of transport planning projects. You will be working with globally acclaimed clients in both the public and private sector working from the international to local level.As a senior consultant you will be involved in the management of internal and external client relationships, taking a key role in problem solving and improving practices through collaboration and introspection.This role generates an outlet for career growth, by providing a range of learning resources in addition to creating an environment for networking with all levels of personnel across a range of location and sectors.What you will be doing:

  • As a senior consultant you will have plenty of client contact while pulling together multidisciplinary teams to deliver excellent project deliverables.
  • Your role will hold a technical component (including producing reports and notes) as well involvement with the commercials.
  • Preparation of Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Local Plans, Transport Strategies, Traffic Management Plans and Access Studies for a wide range of development and regeneration projects from small residential sites and onshore wind farms to large scalemixed use strategic development sites and Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs)
  • Highway design, including public realm schemes, bus priority, junction and road designs, cycle infrastructure and input to masterplanning of development sites
  • Transport modelling including local junction models and microsimulation
  • Preparation of Environmental Statements
What we are looking for:
  • Qualified to degree level in a relevant discipline
  • Extensive experience in transport planning, including Transport Assessments, and of contributing to multi-disciplinary projects
  • Management of small to medium-sized projects
  • Experience in Section 106 and 278 Agreements and familiarity with relevant guidance including TAG, DMRB and the Green Book
  • Experience of local junction modelling software packages (LinSig, Junctions9). Knowledge of microsimulation (VISSIM) would be an advantage
