Job Description

Senior Therapeutic Fostering Social Worker How youll make a differenceOur social workers make a real difference. Every day they work with families to help children and young people who have had a difficult start in life to achieve their ambitions. Youwill be listening to young people and putting them at the heart of all that we do and working in partnership with families, equipping them with the skills they need to ensure young people live in happy, healthy and safe homes. What will you be doing We havea strong culture of giving staff the time, freedom and support to explore new and better ways of doing things, so were looking for individuals keen to use their creativity to deliver high quality, child-centred practices, which ensure the best outcomes forchildren and families. As a Senior Therapeutic Fostering Social Worker, youll be: Providing professional supervision and developmental support, to a Social Work Assistant. Work in a multi-agency context, to ensure that vulnerable children and young peopleare identified, protected, and supported to achieve positive outcomes through the provision of well planned, integrated and coordinated services. Design and deliver training, and workshops to childcare social workers, other professionals, foster carers andbirth parents around the impact of trauma, taking a lead across services for children. Chair meetings in negotiation with the co-worker and lead on the recommendations from the assessment and support of foster carers/birth families who are willing and ableto care for a child who has suffered significant trauma. Work closely with all teams across childrens services, building positive relationships and maintaining a team around the family approach.What we need from you A qualified social worker with relevantregistration to practice and a good understanding of asset and strengths based approaches to social work A problem solver, confident about making important decisions, underpinned by a genuine passion to work collaboratively with children, young people andfamilies to meet their goals and aspirations Innovation, positivity and dedication. This ispayable upon successful completion of your probationary period (after approximately 3-6 months) and is subject to eligibility criteria.
