Job Description

Job Title: Senior Technical AnalystLocation: London (Hybrid Working)Contract Length: 6 monthsOpportunity Overview:Columbia Threadneedle Investments is a leading global asset management group that provides a broad range of actively managed investment strategies and solutions for individual, institutional and corporate clients around the world.Responsibilities:

  • Projects - Build, test and implement technical solutions to support Columbia Threadneedle project portfolio. Take the lead or act as a team member as required by the circumstances of the project. All projects will be structured according to the agreed standardsfor running business projects.
  • Operational environment - Build and document an operational environment that supports Columbia Threadneedle applications and meets the requirements of service availability and recoverability, including where necessary working outside of business hours tocover systems implementations and support.
  • Procedures - Understand and implement procedures for which the team is responsible. Recommend improvements in the teams procedures to the Manager, IT Platforms.
  • Disaster Recovery - Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing. Maintain documentation detailing procedures for recovery of key business systems.
  • Documentation - Work with IT Operations team to ensure effective handover of support procedures and systems documentation.
  • Security - Comply with the requirements of the company Information Security Policy and to carry out all duties with due attention to Information Security, following departmental procedures and controls.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • At least 10 years IT support experience (of which 5 at 2nd line or above responsibility) in 3 or more of the following areas:
  • Databases: Installation, administration, tuning, maintenance on multiple version of MS SQL
  • Database disaster recovery and backup across multiple version of MS SQL
  • Databases: Installation, administration, tuning, maintenance on another database platform
  • Database disaster recovery and backup across multiple version of another database platform
  • Systems Administration: Installation, configuration, tuning, maintenance, scripting (Windows, VMware);
  • Database security
Experience in any of the following areas would be advantageous
  • SQL Server SSAS, SSIS and Visual Studio
  • Applications - Thinkfolio, Cadis, IBM MQ, IBM ConnectDirect
  • Infrastructure design, build and support (Intel, HPE, VMware)
  • Should be technically and business aware. Industry related qualifications would be advantageous.
