We are recruiting for an energy business looking for a Senior Technical Accountant. This position will pay £85,000 + £4k car allowance + 25% Bonus. The business has outperformed the market and is still doing well at the moment, given the current economic circumstances. The role will have a split of 30% theory and 70% practical and have a huge amount of stakeholder interaction. Its important this person can really interact with lots of people and likes building up relationships.The role will work heavily with the group accounting team and sometimes help out with the preparation of financial statements where necessary. It will have involvement with the Big 4 auditors and have a clear path of career growth into the wider finance team or indeed a larger technical role in the business or the wider international group. Company culture is collaborative and very down to earth with a huge amount of flexible working.The role will be responsible for the hedge accounting policy and the hedge accounting transactions. This person will, therefore, be heavily involved with IFRS 9. The other parts of the role will be the technical knowhow for the group finance team which will focus predominantly on IFRS 13 and 16. There is a focus on some other treasury parts of the role from a booking transactions point of view. The role will also get involved in strategic projects.We are seeking an ACA/AMCT/CA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant who is currently doing a treasury or technical accounting position. They will have in-depth IFRS skills and enjoy working on a variety of things.
