About the roleAugmenting the student experience is core to the mission of our departments Teaching and Learning team. We have invested heavily in staffing our team of Senior Teaching & Learning Administrators in recent months and this recruitment is a continuation ofthat commitment.This position is an invaluable opportunity to assume people management responsibilities. Reporting into the Teaching and Learning Manager, the appointee will have one direct report, a Grade 6 Teaching and Learning Administrator. As Senior Teaching & LearningAdministrator, the role-holder will specialise in administering designated Postgraduate Taught courses/programmes, ensuring effective procedures are documented and adopted for dealing with all aspects including enquiries, applications, marketing, exams andprogression. They will lead in achieving a high quality and timely service to current and prospective students, and staff relating to the designated courses/programmes and beyond.The role will include management for all matters relating to the teaching and learning activities of Postgraduate Taught students from enquiry to completion, incorporating organisation of committees and processes relating to assessment, student and courserecords.The role holder must be efficient, organised and take great care in attention to detail. As this position requires interaction with many people within and external to UCL thus a professional attitude, a willingness to help and a positive outlook are requiredin order to adequately execute the duties outlined.About youWe are especially keen to hear from applicants with people management skills and the ability to develop and motivate a team of staff and promoting teamwork. To be effective in this role it is essential that you have experience of performing in administrationroles in higher/further education or a teaching and learning environment and with course/programme administration, including dealing with student/customer enquiries. Additionally, it is essential that you are able to work independently, with a keen attentionto detail and a commitment to delivering high service standards.You must be able to demonstrate:
  • Computer literacy, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, email and internet.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good Report-writing skills
  • Good numeracy skills with the ability to present and interpret statistics.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with a variety of people, including the ability to relate to staff and students in a teaching and learning context, and from diverse backgrounds.
  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above (Including Mathematics and English Language) or equivalent or having acquired relevant experience and/OR educated to A level standard (including A-C in 2 subjects), or equivalent experience such as report writingand interpreting data.
