The Dynamic List (Dlist) team is part of a wider department which is responsible for building platforms. The teams main business is in "Security Lists". A "security" is any financial instrument (such as the stock of Tesla Motors). A "security list" istherefore a collection of such instruments, which can be reflected in real life through "portfolios", "indexes", etc. There are over 100 different teams that consume or produce security lists in Bloomberg. As a platform team, we provide protocols, infrastructureand reusable components which enable other Bloomberg engineering teams to publish or subscribe to important security lists. The infrastructure is a realtime pub/sub middleware. We operate at a large scale in terms of numbers of cluster nodes that we run, activeconcurrent subscriptions, and size of data that passes through us every day. We work closely with our product colleagues ensuring that product innovation is strong in the team. The team is relatively new (~3 years) and is currently introducing the capability to implement workflows that were simply not possible without our platform.Specifically, we are innovating on workflows and features that are personalized for each user. We strive to have a highly collaborative and inclusive team culture and are constantly looking to evolve our practices in order to provide the right environment for safety and growth. We collaborate with a number of teams across Bloomberg and our product successis also built on top of the reputation that we have with people themselves. Strong collaboration skills are definitely a key in this team. On the Security Lists product, our vision is to integrate all existing clients, while also innovating by creating new products.
