Job Description

A London Market (Re)Insurance Group are looking to add a senior member to the financial reporting team. This position will own the preparation of the annual statutory accounts, monitoring & adopting new accounting standards where relevant, developing the accounting treatment for corporate projects as they arise as well as overseeing accounting controls for the group. The group includes a Lloyds operation, a UK insurance company and a European insurance company. The role is within a team of four which is also responsible for the groups core regulatory returns (GAAP and Solvency II), capital monitoring for the group and ad hoc corporate projects.

  • Keeping up to date on UKGAAP, USGAAP and IFRS accounting developments and how they apply to the UK & European entities
  • Providing training and updates to the wider Finance team on accounting developments.
  • Production of the annual SFCR for the UK Group and Luxembourg entity.
  • Production of the triennial full RSR and smaller annual rolled forward RSR.
  • Accounting compliance for corporate and/or capital projects.
  • Liaison with the Group head office technical accounting function.
  • Production of Board reporting for the UK service company.
  • Involvement in the production of the quarterly and annual Solvency II quantitative templates.
  • Maintain adequate controls in line with group policies and SOX requirements, including year-end SOX testing.
  • The ideal candidate for this role will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a good technical accounting expertise. You will need to understand insurance accounting (company market or Lloyds) either from hands on experience or from auditing insurance businesses.
