Job Description

Senior Radiographer LondonWe have an opportunity for a high-calibre, passionate Therapeutic Radiographer to work with our client who are a highly progressive private healthcare provider at the forefront of innovation.This position will allow the successful candidate a rare opportunity in working within state-of-the-art facilities with highly specialist technology that is rare in the UK.Responsibilities:

  • Supporting all aspects of the pathway of every patient receiving gamma knife stereotactic radiosurgery in the centre and to support the lead therapy radiographer/centre manager with leadership of their team.
  • Work in different areas of the treatment centre so that all operational objectives and standards are achieved, and the reputation for exceptional service and outcomes is always maintained.
  • Work closely with the clinical team of Lead Radiographer, Physicist, neuroradiologist, consultant and other Radiographers, Nurses and administration staff in all aspects of the gamma knife process.
  • Develop new policies and working procedures and be actively involved in the review of all controlled documents within the gamma knife department.
  • Actively take part in pre-arranged site visits, demonstrating the frame fitting procedure, patient pathway and answering all related questions.
  • Assist in the orientation of staff, providing training, help and support.
  • About You:
  • DCR (T) or BSc (Hons) in Radiotherapy (or equivalent)
  • HCPC registration
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Some knowledge of report writing
  • Able to demonstrate post qualification experience
  • Experience and understanding of UK radiotherapy
  • Experience in gamma knife stereotactic radiosurgery and treatment of neurological conditions
  • Previous experience within all aspects of radiotherapy; quality assurance, pre-treatment and treatment
  • Evidence of effective staff liaison and co-operative working
  • Evidence of empathetic and a holistic approach to patient care
  • Previous experience working in private health sector - advantageous
  • Prior experience with resolving complaints satisfactorily
  • Experience of proactively evolving radiotherapy techniques
  • A range of radiotherapy clinical skills
  • Evidence of effective organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Able to make independent judgments/decisions, ability to solve problems
  • Ability to work flexibly to achieve business objectives
  • Able to act as a trainer and mentor for new/rotational/more junior staff
