Job Description

My client is an independent regulator in the UK and Ireland, responsible for regulating auditors, accountants and actuaries, and setting the UKs Corporate Governance and Stewardship Codes. They seek to promote transparency and integrity in business by aiming its work at investors and others who rely on company reports, audits and high-quality risk management.The RoleAn opportunity has arisen within the Audit and Accountancy division for an experienced Senior Project Director.As Senior Project Director you will contribute to my client’s objective to set high standards in corporate governance and stewardship, corporate reporting, audit and actuarial work.Delivery will be achieved by supporting the Director, Accounting and Reporting Policy in delivering the team’s work plan to agreed timescales.Responsibilities

  • Leading the projects to develop and maintain financial reporting standards in the UK and Republic of Ireland, including managing and developing project staff, delivering papers to the relevant governance bodies and meeting project deadlines.
  • Engaging with stakeholders to contribute to the projects and thought leadership work.
  • Engaging with SORP-making bodies developing sector specific SORPs for the application of FRS 102.
  • Lead projects within the Accounting and Reporting Policy Work Team’s work plan.
  • Experience
  • Educated to degree level, with a professional qualification and at a minimum of director level in an audit firm or senior management in industry.
  • A comprehensive and in-depth technical accounting expertise.
  • Able to provide leadership through influence and to work as part of a team to influence the outcome of projects.
  • Thorough understanding of the accounting and regulatory framework in the United Kingdom & Republic of Ireland.
  • High credibility in the financial reporting community.
