Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity to join a top tier US banking an organisation as a Product Development Specialist.The Senior Product Development Specialist assists in the leadership of product development efforts across the Global foreign exchange business line. Specifically, you will handle project management, business analysis and research in support of these key initiatives. You will also play a critical role in identifying product opportunities and be actively involved in strategic product planning and placement. To be successful in this role, you must have excellent project management, problem solving and analytical skills.Any candidate with the appropriate level of experience that has a focus on FX hedging / overlay is a potential good candidate.

  • We are looking for someone that has fund accounting business/valuations technical working expertise.
  • Excellent technical and analytical skills with numbers/excel is a must.
  • Business Analyst/Project management work is a good to have. This would include a good understanding of the development cycles, business requirements, development, testing, implementations, etc.
  • We are not looking for a very experienced Business Analyst that has no familiarity with technical aspects of fund accounting.
  • FX expertise is a good to have, but someone that has exclusively FX focus without a good view into fund valuations and hedging wont be a great fit
  • VBA SQL or other coding skills sets are great to have
  • Good knowledge of other areas of the traditional administrators like Transfer Agency, Custody, etc is a nice to have.
  • We are looking for someone that questions why things are done in a certain way, challenges the standards, and makes suggestions
    • Some of your key responsibilities include:Product Development
  • Gather and document business requirements for upcoming Currency Hedging development items
  • Create test scenarios and test cases in integrated system tests
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Test and make sure systems are tested thoroughly according to business requirements
    • Business Analysis
  • Assist in identifying product gaps and opportunities and recommend creative business solutions.
  • Develop cost models for existing and new business initiatives.
  • Assist in the review and preparation of business requirements.
  • Co-ordinate and manage the business implications of technology implementations on the current and future business environment.
  • Help identify and incorporate process improvements to lower costs and improve efficiencies.
  • Provide sound business recommendations on issues.
  • Support currency administration client service teams.
  • Leverage expertise to other lines of business.

  • Manage product development initiatives from inception to implementation
  • Ensure timely and effective delivery of product enhancements and functionality within agreed to cost and scope parameters
  • Ensure effective project communication across groups including Systems, Risk, FX and Operations
    • Education level and/or relevant experience(s)
  • Bachelors degree in finance, marketing or related discipline required
    • Knowledge and skills (general and technical)
  • Excellent business analysis skills, including business requirements, product proposals and business and technical workflows.
  • Knowledge of international currency markets, including the impact of economic and political factors.
  • Knowledge of foreign exchange trading instruments.
  • Excellent project management, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, consultative and advisory skills.
  • Knowledge of emerging trends in the industry.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and make sound business decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, while meeting deadlines.
  • Experience with standard desktop tools, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentations.
