Job Description

Opportunity Overview: We are currently hiring for an exciting opportunity to join a leading global insurance providers Data Protection Team, which is diverging into two clear paths, the existing Regulatory & Core function and the emergingand growing Transformation and Change.Role Objective: This role is to support the businesses as we transform through Data Analytics. The Role requires a seasoned Privacy Practitioner with experience in data analytics, preferably Insurance or Financial Services, or experienceof working with highly sensitive Health data. This is a fast-moving area so a hands-on appropriate with a practical and pragmatic style is required. Although you will work fully aligned with the Privacy Framework you will be required to work independentlytaking ownership of the Data Protection Impact Assessments which support the digital strategy within the businesses.Key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the businesses Transformation and Change agenda within Data Analytics working in conjunction with the established Data Protection Function.
  • Ensure the effective day to day data protection activity within this new unit fully aligns with established privacy frameworks and Group standards.
  • Support to the DPO in the maintenance of programmes which adequately and proactively reduce data protection regulatory risk.
  • Provide input into transversal and OpCo related projects where appropriate
  • Proactively mitigate risk whilst reasonably considering overall business strategies.
  • Ensure that Privacy Impact Assessments are completed satisfactorily by the business and IT and approved or commented on by the DPO in good time as necessary.
  • Liaise with associated OpCo Data Protection Teams to ensure that Requests from Customers and staff to exercise their rights are dealt with correctly in accordance with the latest ICO guidance and within regulatory timeframes by ensuring liaison with relevantbusiness areas, HR and Group Legal as appropriate.
  • Ensure annual Registrations to the ICO are maintained and paid for each year.
You will need to be able to display you have the following qualifications and experience:
  • A recognised authority in Data Protection and its application within organisations
  • Good Data Protection experience in a large commercial group of organisations
  • Track record of collaboration and re-use of solutions in large organisations
  • Strong commercial knowledge, ability to understand & integrate business & Data Protection strategies
  • Experience with new technology, platforms, and software solutions (including arrangements and requirements with third parties)
  • Degree level education or equivalent professional experience.
  • Professional Data Protection qualification: PDP / ISEB/ IAPP
  • Legally qualified
