Job Description

Senior PHP/Symfony Engineer - Fully Remote(PHP | Symfony | Elasticsearch | MySQL | CI/CD) - Up to £55,000)(£45,000 - £55,000 | Remote work (abroad working policy included) | Health Insurance | Life Insurance | Flexible hours | Tech training/perkbox | Company days out)The roleThis is an opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer (PHP, Symfony, Elasticsearch) to come on board and join a business that help provide business top digital solutions, focussed on delivering the future! You will be involved in the developmentof several exciting bespoke development projects, large-scale enterprise websites and web applications and a variety of other projects from international community hubs right through to enterprise e- projects across the globe. As a Software Engineer (PHP, Symfony, Elasticsearch), you will both research, develop and test new features and functionality, as well as build websites from the ground up.As well as this, you will support the team in their continued learning and development through sharing experiences, mentoring skills and acting as a mentor and coach within the development teams. You will lead the development of projects and you will alsobe responsible for leading architectural decisions and choosing approaches to ensure that the team maintains standards and delivers high quality software.Day to day, youll get involved with:

  • Develop new functionality using your Symfony knowledge to excel clients expectations
  • Help build enterprise-scale Symfony solutions
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Participate in code reviews and lead pair programming activities
  • Attend and contribute to sprint and client meetings
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the business to contribute to both your career and the success of the business
  • Bring your A game and act as a mentor to the development team encouraging people to be the best they can be and adopt a winning mindset
Requirements for the role:
  • 3-5+ years experience working with Symfony and PHP
  • Worked on projects that required custom plug in development
  • A strong understanding and experience of working with modern PHP
  • An understanding of web performance and its importance
Desirable:
  • Experience in creating unit tested solutions
  • Clean coding practices (SOLID etc.)
