The Team ValuationOffice Agency Customer Group (VOACG) provides digital services and IT support drawing on HMRCs digital expertise to ensure our customer The Valuation Office Agency (VOA) get the right level of service as well as building and supporting specialist, uniqueservices. The VOA is investing over £30m in transforming its services to reflect the up to date demands of taxpayers.Job descriptionAs a senior performance analyst, you will lead on understanding the user journey through data and analytics, analysing the performanceof the service and understanding areas for improvement. This role will challenge you to act as a driving force within your team and the business to move towards data driven design. You will provide data and compelling evidence that will inform the way inwhich services are designed and iterated. You will also be working collaboratively with agile teams which will offer you the opportunity to work closely with those within thescrum team,external stakeholders, and those within the wider PA community acrossHMRC who you will proactively support and mentor. The ideal candidate A keen analyst with an inquisitive mindset, You will already have a collaborative approach and a passion to communicate effectively. You will take accountability and ownership and can coach,mentor, reflect and to give and receive feedback. You will be flexible and adaptable, working with a sense of urgency and be passionate about having The Customer at the heart of what you do.Responsibilities- Be a practitioner in analytical best practicesuch as data visualization, quality assurance, and communicating analysis and insight, as per the DDaT skills framework for performance analysts. - Experienced in using Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and have strong Splunk coding skills (amongst otheranalytical tools) to be able to set up the correct configuration settings and queries that can capture and extract the correct data as per the services performance measurement frameworks. - Experienced in using Excel and Google Sheets to manipulate data.- Experienced in using Data Studio and PowerBI to visualize and share outputs that inform iterations to improve the user journey. - Work with agile teams across the VOA with initial focus on the Check, Challenge and Appeal service to use analytics to understandand improve their performance across the agile lifecycle for large or complex services. - Work as part of the service team to identify analytical requirements and relevant metrics, provide robust, quality assured analytics and interpret results to create compellingevidence-based and actionable data stories to share with stakeholders to drive decisions and inform the iterative design of the service. - Actively contribute to communities within HMRC and across government. Essential criteria: - Be proficient in a rangeof analytical tools - The post-holder is required to be vetted to SC security level Desirable criteria: - Experience in using Microsoft Office tools, including PowerBI - Experience in facilitating workshops - Experience in Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager,Data Studio, Excel/Google Sheets and Splunk, which are required for performance analytics. When lockdown restrictions ease, some regular travel to our VOACG Strategic Locations of Worthing, Bristol, Edinburgh & Manchester alongside other VOA & HMRCsites will be required. Office visits could be for the day or require overnight stays depending on the demands of the business.
