JOB AD:Technical Responsibilities:Significant PCB design experience of complex PCB Layouts in applications including analogue, digital, power and RF in one or more of the following fields: telecoms, aerospace, wireless, microwave for both commercial and/or defence equipment.Work effectively in collaboration with the other members of the development team, specifically hardware, antenna designers, systems engineers and mechanical teams to ensure effective support of the existing development programmes.Take Responsibility for the administration of the Altium Concord Component and design Vault and associated user accounts. Manage the sub-contract PCB layout activities with external bureaus.Qualifications & Skills:HNC, HND or higher in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering or related field.At least 5 - 7 years experience in a relevant industry working on leading-edge PCB designs for products in the data communications, automotive, aerospace or defence sectors.Considerable experience of multi-layer PCB design applications involving high-speed, mixed signal (Analogue, Digital, RF) and power circuits, including conventional, micro-via technology, stackup constraints and controlled impedance traces. Solid knowledge of high-speed layout techniques.Familiar with the placement and layout of PCBs involving MCUs, FPGAs, Ethernet Switches, memories such as Flash, SRAMs, Ethernet PHYs, CAN, high speed serial busses and RF features.Good understanding of the layout constraints for high current point of load power supplies (switch mode and linear), current return paths, grounding options and thermal management techniques.Experienced with one or more schematic capture tools such as Altium, Mentor and HyperLynx for SI simulations. Knowledge of mechanical import/export process for ECAD design.A strong background in Altium Designer and Altium Concord Component Vault, lifecycle management, schematic and PCB templates, obtained from industry experience.A good understanding of the design processes and best practices for PCB Layout. An understanding of IPC standards for high reliability products.Knowledge of PCB verification tools such as - CAM350, GCPrevue.A good understanding of the PCB fabrication processes (conventional and sequential lamination), aware of the latest technologies, material selection, stack-ups, buried and blind vias etc.)Appreciation of product safety and PCB design for EMC. DFM/DFT for volume manufacture.Ability to liaise with and manage PCB layout bureaus, PCB fabricators and assembly houses.
