We are looking for an enthusiastic and agile Network Engineer to work as a member of our Network Operations team in Oracles Global Business Unit - Cloud Services (GBUCS). Oracle GBUCS Network Operations runs Oracles global network that underpins variousOracle business units which are aligned to various industries including Hospitality, Retail, and Health and Sciences along with other lines of business. You must have a passion for learning, be passionate about delivering a reliable service to customers, andwilling to work as a member of a global team. Network Operations manage over 60 data centers globally, providing our customers end-to-end connectivity consisting of various network platforms including Cisco, HP, F5, Check Point, among others. As a networkengineer on the Operations team, your priorities include completing change request, fulfilling service requests, incident, and problem management. You could be a member of a global team that collectively supports our customers 24x7 in a follow-the-sun model.Because our team is globally distributed, on-call shift coverage is generally specific to one shift/region, but we do ask for flexibility as occasional urgent needs arise. Responsibilities: Active monitoring of the production environment to proactively addressissues that could affect Oracles services in partnership with the Oracle Global Operations Center. Create and use pre-defined work instructions to safely deliver on change requests to the production environment. Plan and execute changes to the network asneeded. Develop and maintain scripts in Python or other languages to efficiently perform various changes to the network. Automate manual processes Participate in weekly on-call rotation and occasionally o weekend coverage as a member of a globally distributedon-call team. Create Postmortems and documentation of corrective actions to prevent the reoccurrence of incidents. Requirements: A combination of 4-6 years of experience supporting a production network or a combination of higher education specific to networking/computerscience and direct industry experience. Fluent in English, verbal and written Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, Routing and Switching protocols such as BGP, Firewalls, Load Balancing, etc.) Experience with F5 LTM Minimum of CCNP or equivalent level ofknowledge. Strong documentation skills Working knowledge of ITIL & Agile frameworks Comfortable with Linux/Unix command line tools Experience with orchestration solutions using Python, Ansible, YAML, JSON, and GIT. Familiarity with RESTful Web services isalso a plus. Desirable Skills & Qualifications: B.S. in Computer Science or related field Object Oriented Programing experience in a DevOps or SRE/NRE capacity.
