To support this strategy, were now recruiting for an Senior Network Engineer to join our Glasgow office.This is a hybrid working opportunity, so you can split your time between working from home and on site. You may occasionally need to travel to our other sites across the UK.The team operates an on-call rota, which youll be joining after passing probation. An additional on-call allowance is provided.About the RoleThis role gives you the opportunity to work across our full network infrastructure (LAN/ WAN, Public and Private Cloud Services). Youll be part of a Network team of 8 who are responsible for managing networks across all Drax sites in the UK. Day-to-day therole will involve dealing with service-related issues (incidents and requests) and providing technical support for project related workstreams which will include some level of design work. Youll be responsible for managing UK wide networks comprising of Cisco (switches, routers & firewalls), Palo Alto (firewalls & panorama), Checkpoint firewalls, Meraki wireless and F5 Load Balancers. Youll also manage and maintain network elements within bothPrivate and Public cloud environments (AWS and Azure).Youll play a key role providing input into Network roadmaps and taking an active role in identifying new technologies. Youll also follow the change controls, incident management processes and policies, create and update network documentation and network diagramsand continue to review and improve the technology solution and knowledge base.As a senior member of the team, youll act a technical escalation point for the more junior network engineers. Youll also work closely with both business stakeholders and other IT teams to ensure IT deliver a world class service to the business.About YouThis role will be a great fit if youhave experience with most or all of the below: CCNP certification or able to demonstrate technical hands-on knowledge at that level Configuring/supporting Cisco switches (IOS, IOS-XE, Nexus) and Cisco Routers/Firewalls Configuring/supporting Palo Alto Firewalls Configuring/supporting other vendors equipment including F5, Checkpoint, Fortinet, VMWare (NSX-T) would be desirable Supporting large scale networks at Level 3 Working with/supporting an internal user baseAbout DraxDrax is playing a vital role in helping change the way energy is generated, supplied and used.
