Our strength comes from our outstanding people; our strong relationships in the education world; our expertise in using technology to help people learn; our global footprint and local reach; and our position as a profitable, global company with a unifying sense of purpose.About the jobJob Purpose:The purpose of the role is to lead the delivery of the BTEC and Apprenticeships event portfolio in the UK managing a team of Marketing Events Executives to deliver events at the highest standard to meet set marketing objectives including:Brand: to increase the perception, consideration and awareness of the Pearson and Pearson BTEC brandsMQLs: to achieve objectives and key performance indicators, set in collaboration with Senior Managers, and provide (where possible) detailed return on invest reportsThe post holder will work in alongside members of BTEC and Apprenticeship teams to; advise, develop and implement a top level event strategy to deliver an event portfolio of the highest standard.Successful candidateThe successful candidate will possess excellent organisation and communication skills and have a flawless attention to detail to manage multiple concurrent tasks with accuracy and care. You will be responsible for the overall management and leadership of the BTEC and Apprenticeship event team including the BTEC and apprenticeship event calendar to encourage optimum team performance and maximise results.The successful candidate will have:

  • Have a proven track record in event management delivery, against objectives and budget for a range of exhibitions and conferences from initial planning to delivery, evaluation and analysis. Demonstrate an understanding of external factors that need to be considered when planning events
  • Provide excellent stakeholder and client management to internal customers within a busy and changing environment, with the ability to be flexible and adapt/change as required.
  • Be confident when discussing ideas and projects with a range of colleagues and Senior Stakeholders across the organisation. Build and maintain excellent cross company relationships, establishing virtual project teams where required
  • Main responsibilities and key AccountabilitiesThe post holder will:
  • Be responsible for the delivery of high profile events including (but not exclusive to):
  • The Annual Apprenticeship Annual Conference
  • Festival of Education
  • International Festival of Learning
  • BTEC Awards
  • BAME Apprenticeship Awards
  • Association of College Annual Conference
  • Manage a full annual programme of events with a team of Marketing Events Executives that delivers top level brand and strategic marketing events to achieve measurable gains in sales and market share for the full range of Pearson products and services.
  • Create, launch and implement the use of an innovative division wide process for the management of new and existing events in the BTEC and Apprenticeship portfolio to ensure
  • Input and advice as required to the development of the marketing and branding strategy for each event, in line with the Pearson processes and guidelines. Ensure the process is managed with relevant agencies and effectiveness of any given strategy is tracked, analysed and evaluated as part of the event planning process
  • Manage 3rd party relationships with suppliers of event support services, to ensure optimum efficiency and value for money at all times
  • Ensure that all events are delivered to budget and keep budget holders informed at all stages of the event progress against budget
  • Track, evaluate and report on the effectiveness of marketing events, conducting debrief meetings, preparing evaluation reports and post event analysis to inform future planning with other Senior Managers and SLT within the BTEC and Apprenticeship Team
  • Build a strong connection between sales and product management so we develop a customer centric approach to all our audiences.
  • To recruit, manage and coach line reports, ensuring that team plans and individual objectives are met, development plans are in place and performance is managed. Line management and mentoring of two marketing event executives showing innovation, initiative and have the ability to demonstrate delivery at pace against objectives and targets.
  • Leadership and Management
  • Lead and inspire, influence and motivate individuals and prioritise coaching and staff development.
  • Internal and External stakeholdersThis is a mid-management role with some senior interaction, which requires direct and cross-functional leadership abilities. Key stakeholders include (without being limited to):
  • UK SLT Members
  • Marketing Director (B&A)
  • Sales team
  • Product teams and assessment teams
  • Customer services
  • Regulatory and legal
  • External agencies
  • Internal design teams
  • Business Intelligence team
  • The role will involve leading cross-functional meetings and also presenting from time to time to senior stakeholder groups. The successful candidate will need to demo
