This is a great opportunity for you to join the London Film School as a Senior Lecturer in Production Design, particularly if you are an experienced Production Design/Art Director who is keen to inspire students and help them to reach their production design goals in a practicable way. The primary responsibilities of this role are to plan and teach Production Design (PD), including supportive key Art Department skills, to help facilitate students thinking and doing whilst they are making their films. Predominantly the teaching work undertaken is with small Film Unit groups, in the format of consultations and tutorial; students learn alongside this by doing practice. Supportive T&L differentiation skills are sometimes required. The students rotate around HOD roles during the course to help collaborative filmmaking practice understanding, as for many PD is a new subject. Supportive engagement with the diverse cultural community of students and staff at LFS is a must. You will be required to contribute to assessment, curriculum development and review as a member of the teaching team for the programme(s) to meet defined learning objectives. This needs openness and reflection skills, encompassing feedback about both student and staff team practice achievements. You will be expected to undertake a variety of tasks including planning, preparing and teaching students in line with the validated course and module specifications, using a range of modes of delivery and methods to meet learning objectives and outcomes. However, as the role draws on Production Design & associated Art Department work experience skills, we are able to accept applications from practitioners that do not have a formal teaching qualification. You will help expand industry links and liaise with industry connections about matters that will support T&L and the production design work and undertake academic administration duties such as timetable/lesson planning, attendance taking, internal and external reporting, project management, when required. If you have a positive "can do" approach and a willingness to support others where needed as well as a several years professional experience of Production Design/ Art Direction and Art department practices, we would love to hear from you.For further details about the role please visit our website where you can download a copy of the job description and person specification. How to applyTo apply, please download and complete an anonymous application form plus the Equalities monitoring form, and email it to .uk by 9am on Friday 26 February 2021.Applicants must be able to provide proof of their ongoing right to live and work in the UK.LFS is an equal opportunities employer. Whilst all applicants will be judged on merit alone, we especially encourage applications from people who identify as disabled and/or identify as LGBTQIA, black, Asian or are from minority ethnic backgrounds as these groups are under-represented at all levels of staff at LFS.
